How can my acting transform the scene, my partner and myself? How can I react fully and naturally?
Two of the key principles of professional acting (that many improvisers tend to forget) are action and reaction: what our character wants and how we can affect our partner in order to obtain this want. By focusing on attentive action and emotional reaction, our relationships deepen and our scenes come alive. This is true for both comedy and tragedy.
This workshop is a pure acting class! You will learn how to transform every scene through acting, and reaching towards your partner and not just to yourself. This is a ticket to the wild rollercoaster of re/acting.
This is an intermediate to advanced level workshop. To register, you should have *minimum* 50 hours of improv experience & instruction. If you have questions about your level, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Taught by Hila Di Castro
I am an actress, improviser and teacher based in Israel. Since graduating from Acting Studio in 2002, I have acted in diverse theater, film and television productions in Israel (including one super cool horror movie).
Upon discovering the world of improvisation in 2005, I have performed with several improv groups: Improline, komikaza, provisori and an all-woman ensemble named Anna’s Friends.
I am a member and a co-artistic director of LAMABATI, one of the leading improv groups in Israel. We perform throughout Israel and festivals all over the world.
I perform, teach and instruct improv around the world, including festivals (FiiF2016, Tilt2016, THE BIG IF 2018) and private groups (Belgium, Germany, Latvia and more). I also officiated improv competitions in Israel, including Israel’s 2015 National Improv Championship.
I teach acting and improvisation since 2010. My teaching spans acting schools, high schools, private groups and a theatre school for orthodox Jews. I also coach several improv troupes, including an all-orthodox women’s group.
I am the co-founder and the artistic director of “20,000 Words”, an improv performance and workshop that teaches and discusses gender equality throughout Israel.
I am an actress and trainer at D-Theatro, a company that utilizes theatre and improv mediums to provide indoor training and coaching workshops to diverse organizations, with the goal of enhancing inter-personal communication and soft skills. I am the artistic director of “Not Just for Actors”, an improvised performance created by D-Theatro, which takes audience participation to the limit.
